Vallo delle Mura: The City Walls in Lecco
Located nearby the railway station, the Vallo delle Mura is what’s left from the original city walls of Lecco.
The town itself used to be surrounded by this city walls built by the Visconti Family in 1336, together with the bridge and the Castle overlooking the Lake as well. The Viscontea Tower (now open to the public) was both the city entrance and the local trade center.
