Excursion to Monte Barro
Mount Barro, located opposite the city of Lecco, has the greatest biodiversity in our territory. Here lies the Regional Park of Mount Barro, which contains many specimens of flora, present only here, and numerous paths to be followed.
From here you will enjoy an incredible view of the Briantei lakes, the Resegone, the Grigne and the Lecco branch.
Route
The route starts in Gaggio, a hamlet of Malgrate, where you will find a car park at your disposal. From here you take path 306; cross the woods, following path 301 towards Sasso della Vecchia.
In this first stretch, you will need to take a diversion by taking path 304; from here the route becomes more challenging. From here, the route becomes more demanding and you will finally reach the long-awaited viewpoint.
For the return journey, you can opt for an alternative route by following path 302 which leads to the hermitage, including a short downhill stretch along the Giovanni Fornaciari botanical path.
Once at the Hermitage of Monte Barro you will have the opportunity to rest or visit the Centro Parco e Museo Archeologico del Barro (MAB).
From the Hermitage you can follow the Middle Path (301), located on the driveway that leads to the Hermitage and leads back to the Cippo degli Alpini, with the Christ Crucified, and finally to the car park.
