It is the Larian city with the richest historical and artistic heritage: it preserves evidence from the time of ancient Rome, numerous medieval buildings, elegant nineteenth-century palaces and modern rationalist architecture.
Rich in history, art, lively squares and enchanting corners, Como is also the city where the famous scientist Alessandro Volta inventor of the stack was born in 1775 and to whom many monuments are dedicated.

For lovers of trekking, in the hilly area north- west of Como extends the Regional Park Spina Verde, within which, there is also the historic Castle of Baradello.
