A walk along the lake of Como is something not to be missed if you decide to visit this city. From here the view on the Lario and on the hill that hosts Brunate is spectacular.
Starting from Volta Square, and along the Lungo Lario Trento to the left, in front of us stands a bizarre silver-colored structure, located on a “roundabout” of the breakwater: it is “The life electric”, dedicated to the most famous citizen Alessandro Volta.
Continuing the walk we meet another moment dedicated to the inventor of the electric battery: the Volta Temple. The structure was built in 1927 to store objects and scientific instruments related to Volta. The Temple is located inside the public gardens and at its entrance are the statues of science and faith. A little further on stands the monument to the fallen, 30 meters high and made of stone, on which you can climb to admire the city from above.
But it did not end here! Continuing the walk beyond the stadium, there are many luxurious villas, including Villa Saporiti, Villa Gallia and the beautiful Villa Olmo, open to the public and surrounded by an enchanting park.
Going back and along the Lungo Lario Trieste, on the opposite side of the lake, you can admire countless restaurants, bars and green areas where you can admire the panorama.
At the end of the walk, another prestigious Villa Geno and a huge fountain on the lake, with a jet over 40 meters high.
The Lungo lake of Como is a true open-air show!
