Between lake and mountain
Overlooking the shores of Lake Como, close to the cities, accessible yet wild, home to a glorious tradition of mountaineers and mountain lovers, the Lecco’s Prealps, celebrated by Alessandro Manzoni in his Promessi Sposi, are the mountain of Sundays, of the end week, an opportunity to enjoy relaxation and nature just round the corner. A few tens of minutes by car or a few train stops are enough to catapult us into an environment that has nothing to envy, for beauty and charm, to the high mountains. Classic routes and less known routes, through a rather wild and sometimes untouched nature, with its beauty that is renewed along the passing of the seasons, offers visitors enchanted landscapes.
A good network of shelters, located at strategic points, is ready to welcome you, for your refreshment or stay, with a unique and intact hospitality through the years, made of professionalism, courtesy and sharing of experiences, in the spirit of conservation and of the care of the territory. The refuges invite you to visit them and discover this enchanting territory, suspended between the valleys, Lake Como and the highest peaks, and to savor the flavors of the cuisine and the warmth of hospitality, to turn your excursions into unique experiences.
Some paths are of basic difficulty. Others, partly equipped, are reserved for expert hikers, so we recommend contacting mountain professionals. The Alpine Guides are the only people authorized to accompany you in the mountains: with them you can safely face climbing, via ferrata, ski mountaineering, off-piste skiing, ice climbing, snowshoeing, canyoning and high altitude mountains. In addition, the Alpine Guides are available to give advice to all those who want to approach the mountain safely.

The mountains around Lecco have a very precise identity, made of sport and love for the rock and the peaks. The Northern Grigna and especially the southern one, or Grignetta, are one of the most famous and complete among the natural climbing gyms, with dozens of equipped routes and made known by the heroes of the house, Casimiro Ferrari and Riccardo Cassin, probably the most famous and important Italian rock climbers of all time. It is no coincidence that Lecco is home to the famous Ragni, one of the most prestigious mountaineering associations in our country.
At the foot of the Resegone, the symbolic mountain of Lecco, the curious and statisticians should not miss Morterone, which, in addition to being the Italian municipality with fewer inhabitants in absolute, is a small corner of paradise surrounded by unspoiled nature. There are countless mountain routes, trails and shelters for trekking enthusiasts.
